Cleanings & Prevention

A preventive program is a cooperative effort by the patient, dentist, and dental staff to preserve the natural dentition and supporting structures by preventing the onset, progress, and recurrence of dental diseases and conditions.

Preventing dental disease starts at home with good oral hygiene and a balanced diet.  It is continued in the dental office by the efforts of your dentist and dental hygienist to promote, restore, and maintain your oral health.

Prevention also includes regular dental exams, cleanings, and x-rays. Sealants and fluoride are also great preventive treatments that help protect the teeth.

Prevention helps avoid serious and costly dental problems and is the key to having a healthy, confident, beautiful smile.

Cosmetic Dental Treatments

This process leaves an unnoticeable result and is used to correct uneven tooth or teeth which does not fit in with the other even-shaped teeth and is usually used to fic teeth towards the front of the mouth.

Fixing broken teeth – Gives a gorgeous look to chipped teeth, dentists use special tools to shape and polish the damaged tooth or teeth to give them a natural look.

Fixing gums – There are chances for gums to move back exposing the roots of your teeth or have swelling and outgrowth, this type of problem is noticeable when you smile, and is important to change the appearance of the gum as part of smile correction.

Dental safety

It is very important to visit the dentist regularly about every 6 months to keep your teeth and gums well–maintained

Keeping Dental safety is very crucial as it can:

  • Prevent Plaque: A slimy deposit that clutches onto teeth and gum line, it consists of very harmful bacteria. This can cause discoloration of the teeth and tooth decay.

  • Stop Gum Diseases: Gums are a vital part of the whole structure of teeth as it stabilizes the teeth, if carelessness causes diseases involving gum to develop, it could cause swelling, shaky teeth, and eventual loss of teeth.

  • Prevent Tooth Decay: Delay in the visit can cause small cavities to grow if it is not fixed as soon as it is noticed. This is caused due to the acids that attack the teeth and damage the tooth’s surface or enamel.

Regular Visit to the dentist can also save money by stopping small problems before it gets chaotic.

Smile Design – Different face shapes viewed from the frontal aspect and lateral profile of the individual case play a major role in determining the tooth size, shape, and lateral profile, in short. The vital elements of smile designing include the following:

  1. Tooth Components - Incisal Lengths- Maxillary incisal edge position is the most vital as once set it serves as a reference point to decide the proper tooth proportion.

  2. Tooth Dimensions- This tells about central dominance, which means the central teeth must be the dominant teeth in the smile and must display perfect proportion. The length-to-width ratio of the center should be approximately (0.8-1.0)4.5.

  3. A range for the width of 75-80% of the length is acceptable

  4. Dental Midline- Interface between two maxillary central perpendiculars to the incisal plane and opposite to the midline of the face. The maximum allowed discrepancy is 2mm or sometimes greater than 2mm and is aesthetically acceptable as long as the dental midline is perpendicular to the interpupillary line.

  5. Axial inclination- Vertical alignments of the maxillary teeth to central-midline., visible in the smile. There should be a substantial increase in the mesial inclination of each anterior. It should be least noticeable with the centrals.

  6. Zenith Points- The gingiva is most scalloped in the most apical position of the cervical tooth margin and is located slightly distal to the vertical line parallel downwards to the center of the tooth. Acquiring the proper position of zenith points is a critical step in the alteration of mesial and distal dimensions.

  7. This procedure also depends on certain Soft tissue components.

Dental Crowns

A dental crown is a cap-like structure that fits over a damaged tooth. These crowns can keep a weakened tooth from breaking and are used cosmetically to cover a severely discolored tooth.

They are also used to cover other procedures, like root canals enamel fillings, dental bridges, or dental implants.

Inlays and Onlays-  are used when a tooth is too decayed to support a standard filling. These filings are created in a dental laboratory and bonded in place by a cosmetic dentist.

An “inlay” is when the filling is bonded in the center of the tooth.

An “onlay” is when the filling covers the tooth’s entire surface.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are used to replace teeth. A screw is first attached to the aw to provide support. Then, the implant is inserted into the bone socket of the missing tooth. Once this is linked, the dental implant should blend into the surrounding teeth.

Dental Bonding- A moldable resin is applied to the tooth and hardened with ultraviolet light. Then it is trimmed, shaped, and polished with the material to blend into the surface of the tooth. what are the various reasons to visit a dentist?

Smile correction – It involves the whitening of teeth and removal of the dis- colouration of teeth leaving the teeth aesthetically appealing and giving us a wealth of benefits such as fast treatments, though each case is truly unique contributing to different oral problems of the patient. The time span for this treatment ranges anywhere between 2 hours to 3 years.

Teeth Whitening – is quite useful if you have dental enamel stains from smoking, drinking soft or fizzy drinks and high sugar beverages. A chemical reaction between hydrogen peroxide and water will wash away the stains from the dental enamel.
